Ando Media was formed in 2004 when a so-called "old school" radio station owner had a vision of reaching a wider audience for his Martha's Vineyard station by extending the reach through streaming the signal online. Meanwhile, many miles away in the mountains of Colorado a "new school" technology entrepreneur saw the same opportunity, but from the point of view of how the listening audience could be made narrower, right down to the individual IP address, through a sophisticated data analysis code he'd write.
As fate would have it, they wound up at the same conference..at the same table..got to talking..and their separate visions became a shared passion.
Many sleepless nights (and a few grey hairs for each) later, Ando Media has quickly become the industry standard for streaming audio audience measurement. Over 6000 broadcasters currently use Ando's tools to measure their audience and monetize their content. In turn, advertisers can get real time information about how many are listening, where, for how long, and so on. Streaming has moved from a novelty to an unquestionably vital component to publisher profitability and agency communications planning.
What began as a cool idea between two visionaries is now the leading company in one fastest growing media segments. Now that sounds sweet.
